At the top there are the title of the actual page and the navigation buttons. At the bottom there are additional navigation buttons and space for short glossary terms between them. In the middle there is the actual page, seperated by two colored bars.
The function of every button is shown in the status bar of the browser when the mouse cursor is over the button. If the tooltips of your browser are enabled, they will also show the function of the buttons.
The buttons appear in different modes, reflecting their actual functionality.
| Appearance | Mode | Functionality |
|---|---|---|
| enabled | "go to the homepage" | |
| disabled | "no function available" | |
| pressed | "actual page is the homepage" | |
| toggled | "press again to return to the tutorial" |
Some special pages in the tutorial are the tests. They help you to check the
understanding of the previous chapter.
Read the questions carefully and check every answer you think is correct.
After pressing the evaluate-button, the first image below each test shows,
whether your answers are correct
or not
.
If it is not correct, the second image
is clickable and offers some hints for the correct answer.
In the first column there is a tag indicating the actual page:
| Tag | Function |
|---|---|
| This is the actual page | |
| The actual page is below this page |
To expand or collapse the pages, use the
- and
-button.
To jump to a page, just click it's number or title.
The table of contents can be shown in a seperate window by
pressing the "open window"-button
.
The seperate window can be closed by pressing the
&qot;close window"-button
.
When the seperate window is enabled, the main page returns to the actual page of the tutorial, and you can go on with the tutorial. The seperate window is brought back to front when you press the "Table-Of-Contents"-button again.
The tabs at the top of the glossary can be used to switch between the glossary pages: just click on the wanted initial letter (the tab '#' stands for all non alphabetic characters). By pressing the glossary-button again, you return to the actual page of the tutorial.
Like the table of contents the glossary can be shown in a seperate window, too.
The examples page acts most like the glossary page, except that the tabs have the names of the examples, not just a single letter, and at the bottom of the page there is a additional link to download the actual example as a source file.
The help page, which you have invoked right now, gives also the possibility to be shown in a seperate window.
The exit page allows to exit the tutorial, jumping direct to the page where you came from or to other interessting pages. At exiting the tutorial, the last visitied page is stored with a cookie, so at your next visit you can get straight to the page where you left the tutorial.
